Get more sleep. This may seem strange to you but it has been shown in multiple studies that people that get the recommended amount of sleep each night weigh less and have less fat than people that get less sleep. The correlation may have to do with the hormones leptin and ghrelin that make you feel full and stimulate your appetite, respectively. When you get less sleep, the amount of leptin in your body decreases while the amount of ghrelin increases, making you feel more hungry and less full at the same time. The result more often than not is that you will eat more calorie rich food and over time gain stomach fat.

Regulate your metabolism. The best way to do this is to eat a healthy breakfast every morning. A healthy breakfast might contain low fat protein, low fat dairy, whole grains, and fruit. That might mean, for example, eating lean meat (like on toasted bread with cheese), boiled eggs, peanut butter toast, low fat yogurt, or bananas on a low sugar cereal. You should also avoid eating any sugary foods because you want to try to regulate your sugar as well as your metabolism. This will help prevent cravings and reduce the times where your body cannot use all of the simple carbohydrates you consume.

Get some light aerobic exercise. You could jog, bike, swim, or dance for at least the recommended twenty minutes a day, three times a week. By doing aerobic exercise, you will burn a lot of extra calories and I almost guarantee that after a few weeks you will start feeling better all around. Exercising will also help you reduce your stress and stimulate your metabolism. So that means that there are three primary ways in which exercising promotes fat loss. So get to it.
